Abstract

We propose a method of comparing research activities between institutes in a specific research area. This method compiles all research activities in a specific research area from several institutes into one set with the same parameter (research information). The generation of this dataset allows a comparison to be made with activities conducted by other research groups within the same area. As an example application of this method, we present the case of research conducted in astronomy. Using the proposed method, we compiled all research papers that investigate similar research areas from several institutions and compare their results. We show the differences in results obtained between our method and that conventionally used in tabular form.
