Abstract
We have developed a method using a scanning tunneling microscope (STM) probe tip to control the chain polymerization of diacetylene compounds in a self-ordered layer, thereby creating conjugated polydiacetylene nanowires. When a small amount of phthalocyanine was deposited on a molecular layer of diacetylene compound, we found adsorbed and stabilized phthalocyanine single molecules.
