Mascaras de Persefone : a imagem da morte em o sofa estampado e o abraco de Lygia Bojunga Nunes

Abstract

The research intends to verify the aesthetics effects on the implied reader, by analyzing the representation of death in Brazilian works for young people O Sofa Estampado (The Patterned Sofa) and O Abraco (The Embrace), both written by Lygia Bojunga Nunes. For this purpose, we will take as critic perspective the Aesthetic Response Theory of Hans Robert Jauss and the Effect Theory of Wolfgang Iser. This study verified that death not just configures a theme but also a character in both works, and it incites on the reader a mix of pleasure and strangeness.
