Abstract

The research intends to verify the aesthetics effects on the implied reader, by analyzing the representation of death in Brazilian works for young people O Sofa Estampado (The Patterned Sofa) and O Abraco (The Embrace), both written by Lygia Bojunga Nunes. For this purpose, we will take as critic perspective the Aesthetic Response Theory of Hans Robert Jauss and the Effect Theory of Wolfgang Iser.
