Abstract

This paper designed speed controller (PI) and fed to switched reluctance motor (SRM) with two converter topologies i.e. asymmetric bridge converter and R-dump converter for minimizing the torque ripples using MATLAB/SIMULINK software package. The SRM speed is compared with reference speed and speed error signal is processed through PI controller and limiter to generate current command. Simulation results shown for two converter topologies. Simulation results shows that for low speed (closed loop) controlled SRM with PI controller consists of minimum torque ripples than those obtained for uncontrolled (open loop) SRM drive.
