Abstract
In this paper, we develop a finite element model of the variable reluctance synchronous machine. This model is created using a FEM simulator. The modeling of this machine by the finite element method will allow us to determine its magnetic characteristics: inductances, magnetic flux and electromagnetic torque. We will study specifically the evolution of the inductors in several positions of the rotor. The angular position of the rotor (θ) and the phase current (i) will be used as parameters. The results obtained by the finite element are compared with those obtained by the analytical method.
