Abstract
Summary form only given. Graduating engineers must be prepared for the quickly changing technical environment they will be entering. Students need an experiential learning environment that provides them with a more intuitive approach to engineering problems, which in turn encourages them to study theory. It is also possible with such an approach to encourage and teach team interaction, which is important in today's industry. This paper focuses on lessons learned helping students learn to take control of their learning environment. Teaching a class interactively can be a challenge; students like familiar things. Interactive learning changes the rules about education students have become accustomed to. This can be a very uncomfortable experience, however once the students understand what is happening, learning the material often becomes fun.
