Abstract

Poaching of wild animals and fear of their disappearance is a cause of concern globally. Preservation of wildlife has taken the center stage today. Tigers and lions are poached for their teeth and fur which may lead to their extinction. In the last few years tiger poaching has increased dramatically fueled by illegal trade of tiger body parts. In order to safeguard our animals from the dangers of poaching, this paper proposes an electronic device constructed using Global Positioning System (GPS), Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) interfaced with a heart rate sensor. The sensor takes the heart rate of the animal as input and subject to certain conditions in code alerts the concerned authority facilitating required action.
