Abstract

Thank you for the invitation to address you in Melbourne today. I read that AmCham is the largest international chamber of commerce operating in Australia, and has been working to promote trade, investment and general business links between the United States and Australia since 1961. Over that period of nearly fi ve decades, the US and Australia have enjoyed a mutually benefi cial trade relationship, enshrined most recently in the Free Trade Agreement.
