Abstract

An important problem of the nuclear power industry today is the search for ways to use weapon grade plutonium in nuclear power installations. The solution of this problem demands the examination of many principal questions and one of those is the examination of possibilities to use Pu-containing fuel in typical nuclear reactors. Here, the authors examine the use of (Th, U, Pu) O/sub 2/ fuel in a water water energy reactor (WWER-1000) nuclear power plant.
