Abstract

This chapter explores virtue ethics. It explains how this approach emphasises the importance of medical professionals’ virtues such as compassion, wisdom and justice. While this approach can promote flexibility, and accommodates human responses, it can face challenges if it is not clear what the virtuous thing to do is.
