Meeting of Rulers in the Scepus Region (1214)

Abstract

The personal meetings of medieval rulers were of great importance just like the political meetings of our present days. Yet, in most cases only the fact of the meeting has remained to us, without any information on thé détails, thé pérsons présént théré, and thé duration of thé participants’ stay étc. In this paper we intend to reconstruct the meeting and its circumstances based on the events prior to that and on its consequences.
