Abstract

Author examined the chewing patterns of 10 complete denture wearers with LED mandibular tracking device, and analyzed the average cycle time, average occlusion time and the ratio of average time/average cycle time during chewing occlusion various test foods-standardized carrot and ham, the results were as follow: 1. The average cycle time of chewing carrot was longer than that of chewing ham. 2. The average occlusion time of chewing carrot was longer than that of chewing ham. 3. The ratio of average occlusion time/average cycle time of chewing ham was greater than that of chewing carrot. 4. During chewing carrot or ham, there was an increasing tendency in occlusion time and ratio of occlusion time/cycle time.
