Unlike the traditional FSS, the proposed FSS acts as a selective surface when the impinged microwave power is low while it acts as a blocking surface when the impinged microwave power is high. With both frequency and power selectivity, the proposed FSS is able to provide pass band to the low power signals and block high power microwave attack. The principle of how to control the threshold energy of the FSS is also studied and demonstrated. Abstract
A power dependent frequency selective surface (FSS) is proposed in this paper. Unlike the traditional FSS, the proposed FSS acts as a selective surface when the impinged microwave power is low while it acts as a blocking surface when the impinged microwave power is high.
