Audience Response Systems: The Power of Academic Personal Presentation

Abstract

Modernization of university environment has brought various tools to the environment, mainly the information communication technologies. Using them often does not require much technological knowledge. And one of such technologies are Audience Response Systems, used mainly to increase interest of the audience. Moreover, students can become an active part of the learning process, where they can show their attitudes, opinions as well as their knowledge. All of these factors influence the overall result of the learning process. This study describes a mobile Audience Response System based on Android platform. The aim is to show that Audience Response Systems nowadays do not require to buy lots of expensive hardware or software, but students may simply use their smart-phones to become active during their lectures.
