Abstract

In recent years young Japanese women have beco 皿 conseious their own them are trimming down their weight ， led to research focusing on their sli 皿 fUlfillment ． The purpose of this study is to clarify the forming slim body made concretely between one ’ s body a ロ dthe social system ， and i ゼ s interrelationship with ・ ． In order to achieve this ， the author have attempted to do 血eld research ； the interview and participant observation with nine lunior conege women ． In the analysis of 丘 eld data ， the main results of slimmi practice and socio − cu1 − tural background of s 苴 mness consciousness are su 皿 marized as follows ． （ 1 ） The author makes up perspectives and framworkes in relation to cultural values with sex role and gender identity ， beauty ， attitudes towards fashion ， eatinghabits and health status 。 （ 2 ） Young Japanese women their model as a mother ， and are of motherly nine among − neSS ，，． （ 5 ） The author discusses the socio ・ cultura ユ context of fotming slim bodies among young wom en ， and explains their forming slim bodies by the concepts of reforming
