Abstract

High voltage direct current (HVDC) is more and more widely used in the world. Its grid connection brings stability problems to the traditional AC power grid. As a common fault of HVDC, commutation failure usually occurs at the receiving end. In this paper, the typical circuit structure and control strategy of HVDC are used to analyze the dynamic characteristics of inverter to AC side fault of receiving end under different transmission power, and the influence of Synchronous condenser (SC) and filter compensation device (FC) on AC side fault of receiving end is analyzed. Finally, based on the parameters of Jiuquan Hunan HVDC transmission project, the correctness of the analysis is verified by simulation on PSCAD / EMTDC.
