Abstract
In this paper, based on the research of traditional dipole antenna, a new type of umbrella-shaped ultra-wideband antenna with a total size of 18 mm×16 mm×1.4 mm is proposed. The antenna is fed by the microstrip feed line and forms a cross structure by rotating the radiating portion of the dipole antenna, so that the antenna size can be reduced to 0.65 wavelength in the case of ultra-bandwidth. The simulation results show that the bandwidth of the antenna is 5.0-11.0 GHz according to S11 and the relative bandwidth is 75%. The maximum gain of the antenna at the center frequency is 1.6 dBi. The antenna can be used in ultra-wideband (UWB) communication systems. This antenna has the advantages of a single-layer structure, light weight and simple feeding structure. Therefore, it can be easy to integrate with a planar circuit.
