Abstract

The article reveals the essence of the concept of open science based on three main principles: open access to scientific publications, openresearch data, and open cooperation. The differences between traditional research and joint, collaborative parallel research are illustrated.The services of cloud-oriented open science systems are analyzed and systematized for use in scientific and educational activities: specialized search engines, content visualization services, services for efficient data storage and exchange, communication services, scientific papers repositories, etc. The European Open Science Cloud is characterized.
