Abstract
A compact airborne downlooking lidar system has been developed at the Environmental Protection Agency in Las Vegas. This differential absorption lidar (DIAL) has been designed to simultaneously measure range-resolved concentrations of ozone (O3) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) in the lower 3 - 4km of the troposphere, together with an indication of the aerosol distribution.
