Abstract

This chapter presents a small story which is explicitly presented as a parable. A young woman, Ecclesia, goes from Jericho to Jerusalem, to sacrifice to the Lord, and meets an old woman, Synagoga, who comes from Jerusalem, where she sacrificed a goat to the Lord. First Ecclesia criticized some strange views, and tries to convince Synagoga about the truth of the Christian doctrine. The conversation centers primarily around Jesus, and Ecclesia argues that he was God and man at the same time, the most important events of his life (birth from a virgin, Crucifixion, Resurrection) really occurred, and in him, the Messianic prophecies came true.
