Abstract

The mechanical load measurement is very important for the design and certification of wind turbine. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) issued a new version of wind turbine load measurement standard IEC61400-13 in 2015. This version has been greatly improved on the basis of the version published in 2001, and supplements numerous requirements and methods. This paper interprets the differences between IEC61400-13:2015 and IEC/TS6140013:2001, aiming to facilitate the turbine manufacturer, test institue and certification body to carry out mechanical load measurement.
