Abstract

We propose a new paradigm for combating task-deferring behaviors: providing amiable visual feedback at information workers' peripheral vision. Research indicates that the loss of self-awareness and motivation are the possible culprits for task-deferring and even procrastination behaviors. In our first lab-based study, dynamic visual feedback helps participants to get back to primary tasks sooner without causing high stress.
