Also included is a very brief explanation of the remaining elements from a failure rate per mile viewpoint. Integration of the failure rates of the total system is necessary in order to predict the total expected blockages during an operational day. This method can be modified to include other station designs and operating policies. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe a methodology that can be used in evaluating a transit system, placing the majority emphasis upon the station configuration and establishing maneuver zones for vehicular interaction.
