For this there is a need to locate, map, monitor and detect the tunnel. Various techniques used in this process from electromagnetic methods to RADAR to sensors. The first method which was used in 1990s as a subject of tunnel detection and was successful in detecting it at the experimental tunnel site in Otay Mesa, San Diego. From the various researches it has been seen that electromagnetic methods and seismic methods are mostly used methods.In this paper, there is discussion as well as review of various researchers and technology which was used and is still in used.
