Abstract
An algorithm for the elimination of cloud cover from imagery obtained from a NOAA satellite is described. Application of the method is illustrated using imagery of the Baltic Sea area. The method includes the processing of images in the near-and far-IR ranges, as well as an analysis of the spatial discordance of the brightness temperature field registered by AVHRR channel 4.
