Abstract
This work discusses the design of an atmospheric radar using active phased array comprising three element Yagi Uda antennas and high-power amplifiers. The radar operates at 53MHz and will help to understand the atmospheric turbulations in the Indo-Gangetic plain wherein land sea interactions play an important role in framing the atmospheric processes. The associated challenges in system design and antenna characterization is discussed.
