The electromagnetic performances are predicted and compared with 2-D and 3-D finite element analyses (FEA), and an end-leakage factor for end-effect is defined to modify the 2-D predicted result. Abstract
In this paper, a novel stator hybrid excited doubly salient (HEDS) machine is proposed, which combines the advantages of PM machines with the possibility of controllable magnetic flux by auxiliary dc excited windings.
