Abstract
A variant on the original bacterial foraging optimization (BFO) algorithm, called the cooperative bacterial foraging optimization (CBFO), is proposed in this paper. The results of various experimental studies using a suit of 4 widely used test functions have demonstrated the superiority of the proposed CBFO approach over the other three search techniques.
