High speed photonic devices for millimeter wave systems

Abstract

In this paper, we describe and compare the performance of mm-wave optical transmitters based on resonant modulation of monolithic semiconductor lasers, feedforward modulation, and a passively mode-locked laser operating in an optoelectronic phase-locked loop.
