Abstract

The country is short of four million homes. We need to build 340,000 homes a year, every year, until 2031 if we are to meet this backlog and provide for future demand. For the first time, we are able to break this need down by tenure – 90,000 of these new homes must be for social rent. As the biggest delivers of social and affordable housing in England, housing associations are committed to playing our part.
