Abstract

Vibration-based Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) is based on the postulate that structural damage can be detected from vibration measurements, which constitute simple tests for the identification of dynamic building parameters. In this work, an automated procedure based on the Operational Modal Analysis (OMA) has been developed to ensure the continuous monitoring and the extraction of the modal parameters of the Tower of the Engineering Faculty of the Università Politecnica delle Marche. Moreover, a correlation between modal properties of the building and environmental conditions has been observed during the monitoring period.
