Abstract

This chapter presents information on the manuscripts on Christ's question to Cain and the dialogue between the Christ and Cain presented in chapter 6 of this book Lateinische Dialoge 1200 -1400. The text is in the manuscripts in Dillingen and Wolfenbuttel delivered along with works of Jacob of paradise. There is no evidence of the author. The text begins with a brief narrative. It shows how Cain's assertion in hell regarding sinners' repentence and how Christ countered the distinction between two forms of repentance: abhorrence of sin and fear of punishment. Cain's argument regarding the Bible, his statements, his legal arguments are also present in the manuscript.
