Abstract

Purpose. To assess the frequency of adhesions after cesarean section and to investigate the prevalence and location of pelvic adhesions in women with a history of cesarean section.Materials and methods. In total, the study included 390 patients who underwent a caesarean section at the 1st Clinical Medical Center in Baku, Azerbaijan in the period from January 2013 to January 2015. We studied 30 cases of primary CS surgery and 360 cases of repeated CS operations. We used 3 classifications to assess adhesions: the peritoneal adhesion index (PAI), the classification of the adhesive process according to T. Tulandi and the general classification of the prevalence of adhesions, the degree and severity of adhesions were assessed prospectively.
