Abstract

Relevance. Despite numerous scientific studies, the importance of certain types of sports training for the growth of athletes' skills has not yet been revealed. In our research, we have considered those sports that we have studied and have experimental data on them.  The purpose of the study was to identify the importance of certain types of sports training for the growth of athletes' skills.  Methods and organization of the study: The introduction of a set of non-invasive research methods and the analysis of indicators of the cardiorespiratory system of athletes of cyclic sports is an appropriate, effective and promising evaluation tool when making changes to the training process. At the same time, for cyclic sports, such types of training as physical and functional are of dominant importance. However, the role of general physical training will be leveled with each year of sports, giving preference to special physical training and the technical level of sports skills. In acyclic sports, the emphasis should be placed on technical and tactical training, provided that the level of physical and functional training of athletes is sufficiently high.
