The results showed that the milk production curve in lactation 1 and 2 of the Ali-Schaeffer regression model was on the line that the curve of actual milk production. The correlation between estimated milk yield of Ali-Schaeffer and actual milk yield of 365 days in lactation 1 was 0.988 and in lactation 2 was 0.983. Abstract

Milk production curve describes the period from lactation onset after calving until the cow’s milk dries up. The shape of the milk production curve follows a regular pattern, milk production at the beginning of lactation continues to increase until the peak of production, then begins to decrease in production until the lactation period ends.
