Abstract

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) is a very exciting treatment modality that offers the possibility of a highly targeted treatment for cancer and other diseases. A major issue in the use of PDT is the inability to deliver the required dose of light to deep areas of the tumor. The turbid nature of tissue causes the light to be highly scattered before reaching the base of the tumor.
