Abstract
This paper deals with an early detection of electrical faults of an induction motor supplied by a voltage source inverter in the closed-loop control structure DFOC. Both shorted turns of the stator windings and broken rotor bars, are taken into consideration. Internal signals from the vector control structure are utilized in order to diagnose both winding damages. The use of current or voltage signals in a synchronously rotating coordinate system is proposed in this paper. Experimental tests have been conducted for different speed and load torque values. It is shown in experimental tests, that it is possible to diagnose both motor faults, even if they occur simultaneously.
