Abstract

The research on the small satellites is on the rise since last two decades thanks to the use of low cost design solutions which have significantly reduced the cost of the space missions. The attitude determination and control subsystem (ADCS) is a core subsystem in order to stabilize and orient their position in space. Magnetometers and magnetic torque actuators are an integral part of ADCS subsystem and their design needs the proper component selection. In this research, we have presented the selection of components for the design of magnetic attitude subsystem of Pakistan National Student Satellite-1 (PNSS-1) on the basis of certain design parameters.
