A principal redefinição se refere à orientação cada vez mais próxima das instituições de educação superior (IES) à lógica “merca-do”. ABSTRACT: Considering the expansion of Higher Education in Brazil in the last twenty years and the integral formation as a basic principle of all educational levels, this article brings and analyzes dissertations and theses pro-duced in the area of Education on the phenomenon of the commercialization of Higher Education. Through the state of knowledge carried out at the Bank of theses and dissertations of CAPES, by using - primarily - the terms commercialization and privatization and, in view of the data collected, we can highlight the number of surveys available at that bank between 1988 and October 2019, the distribution by region in the country and the main topics discussed.
