Abstract

Digital audio broadcasting (DAB) systems are expected to gain popularity in the near future as they offer better services compared to existing FM broadcasting. An important task of a DAB receiver is frame synchronization, which involves detecting the presence of a signal and determining the start of the frame. The detection method has to be robust and provide an arbitrarily low probability of false alarm in any potential channel condition.
