Abstract

In this paper, the control of an energy recovery system is analyzed. The energy recovery system is built with a pump working as a turbine (PAT), an asynchronous generator, and a four-quadrants converter that connects the system to the electrical network. This system regulates the water pressure at the output of the PAT and, because of the drop in pressure, it injects the recovered energy in the electrical grid. Furthermore, a controller is designed for the system shaping the dynamic response of the system using a Bessel polynomial and practical considerations. The design of the controller is validated through simulations.
