Abstract
The article discusses an oil well electrical heating facility that uses heating cable and features an autonomous wind-driven power unit as the power source. The operation of the wind unit is simulated in a laboratory test bench yielding the thermal power dissipated in the load as a function of the wind speed. A proposed MATLAB Simulink model of the heating facility makes it possible to evaluate energy performance for various operating modes. The facility operating mode control ensures maximal efficiency of the wind unit under variable wind conditions and a given heating cable length.
