Within the framework of the article, the author defines the essence of entrepreneurship and the main types of risks of entrepreneurial activity. Particular attention is paid to modern risks caused by a pandemic and quarantine restrictions. The current measures to support entrepreneurship by the state are studied using the example of small business. Based on the results of the article, directions and proposals for reducing the entrepreneurial risks of business entities in a pandemic were identified, both from the entities themselves and from state support. The research problem is as follows: the COVID 19 pandemic has a negative impact on all spheres of the socio-economic life of Russia, incl. on small business, reducing the level of economic security of both business entities and the state, which is unacceptable in the context of the global economic and geopolitical challenges of our time facing Russia. The purpose of the work is to determine the current ways to reduce the risks of business activities during the COVID 19 pandemic in Russia.
