The faulted zone is detected in a short duration by the proposed scheme. Due to this, the effect of fault on the network is reduced. Abstract

This paper deals with the Wide Area Backup Protection (WABP) scheme for multi-terminal transmission lines. In the proposed scheme, the Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) are optimized.
