Abstract

In the study, the roughness characteristics of the surfaces produced with symmetrical milling experiments of steel were analyzed. The cutting speed was changed while the chip cross-section remained constant. The tool was equipped with a single insert with κ r =90°. In this article the 2D and 3D roughness characteristics are investigated; the average roughness (R a , S a ) and the profile height parameters (R z , S z ) were taken into account.
