Abstract

In this paper, a predictive current control strategy is developed for the NPC three-level parallel active power filter. This control technique selects a switching state that optimizes the error between the currents of the active filter and their references. In addition the instantaneous power method, based on an ADALINE harmonic extraction algorithm, is developed in order to estimate and identify the harmonic content of the nonlinear load. The simulation results obtained show the efficiency of the proposed technique control, compared to those conventional, in improving the total harmonic distortion and the electrical power quality.
