Effects of Scatterings by Feed and Struts on the Radiation Pattern of the Paraboloid

Abstract

We determine the radiation pattern of a paraboloid by using the G.T.D. in its largest part as well as the aperture field and equivalent currents methods in the areas, around the forward and rear axis, where the G.T.D. fails. We take into account the scatterings by the primary feed and its supports by using respectively the G.T.D. and the equivalent currents method. We found a very good agreement between our theoretical results and experimental results obtained at 8,2 GHz with a paraboloid of D = 3,30 m.
