Starting on day X, the hospital personnel were only allowed to work using the new clinic information system (CIS). From this date on, all stakeholders had to enter their information, prescriptions, and other documentation into the new system. The subsequent monitoring by and support from experienced system users proved crucial for the success of the new CIS. Lessons learned: good preparation, customized IT environment, and close accompaniment at introduction.
