Abstract

In early 2019, I was delighted to be invited to do a question and answer session with my friend and colleague Elleke Boehmer about her new book The Shouting in the Dark and Other Southern Writing, recently published by University of Western Australia Press. The conversation took place in the congenial common room in the Napier Building in the English Department at Adelaide University, South Australia. What follows is an edited transcript of the discussion, including the introduction by Dr Meg Samuelson of Adelaide University, and the audience questions towards the end.
