This paper presents the development of an Arduino and GSM based home appliances protection system that is able to protect home devices from overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent and undercurrent issues. There are three functional parts in the proposed prototype. The first part measures the voltage and current of the system using sensors. A microcontroller based protective relay makes up the second part which works when any of the parameter values exceeds or falls below the predefined value. Finally, the third part is the GSM module which is very effective for notifying the fault. The display of sensors shows the readings of voltage and current for taking the required action.
